MIMCO X NGV TRIENNIAL COLLECTION

With a shared Melbourne heritage and brand foundations built on creativity, innovation and collaboration, MIMCO’s partnership with the NGV is one that celebrates art, humanity, & creativity.

As supporters of the NGV Triennial, we have created an exclusive six-piece jewellery collection, which epitomises our seasonal story and draws parallels to the themes of the Triennial: Body and Movement. The collection was inspired by human fingerprints, with the end result being beautifully organic and sublimely chic. Watch our film to find out more about the MIMCO x NGV celebration.

Get To Know Mavournee

Melbourne-based actress Mavournee Hazel is the face of the campaign, shot by Melbourne photographer Justin Ridler. The campaign further explores the notion of humanity and connectedness and features iconic spaces of the NGV as the backdrop.

What does it mean to you to be involved in the MIMCO x NGV Triennial campaign?

I’m so excited to be a part of the collaboration between MIMCO and the NGV – It’s such a great opportunity. This is all about celebrating the arts and design coming together, so I’m honoured.

What was it like working with Justin Ridler in the gallery?

It was incredible – and genuinely a dream come true. It’s very rare to come across someone with a vision that can communicate it so clearly. Justin was so in love with the inspiration behind the designs and he wanted to create a narrative around that, which also lent itself to the architecture of the building.

How did you go about bringing the Triennial themes (movement and body) to life on set?

Justin said we were going to be dancing together, which was his way of emphasising movement and fluidity. Everything he shoots celebrates the human form and the beauty we can create with our bodies, which we tried to replicate on set.

What is your a favourite piece from the collection?

The Imprint Drops – statement earrings are my go-to.

As an actress, how do you constantly find inspiration/stay inspired to create?

I definitely draw inspiration from other artists – whether that’s musicians or actors – as well as art itself. And reading scripts and getting the opportunity to portray other people is inspiring.
