Winter accessories for around town and a weekend getaway
It’s getting colder, but you know what that means:
hello, open fires and cosy knits.
Whether you’re navigating working life, a woman about town or planning a weekend away, look to MIMCO for the top accessory winter essentials.
Holly Titheridge (or @_hollyt as you may know—and follow—her) packed up and dressed up in our new collection for a week about town and a weekend away—at the stunning Campbell Point House—proving just how effortless winter accessorising can be.
The next question is: where will you go—and what will you pack?
MIMCO: What are your winter wardrobe essentials?
Holly: When winter comes, my wardrobe tends to darken, with tones of navy, khaki, red wine and black being most prominent. With the choice of those darker tones comes the need for dark accessories to match. You can’t go past a classic black bag (I love the Sentiment Hip), versatile black flats (hello, Infinite Slippers), all paired back with statement gold jewels that add a bit of contrast
MIMCO: What is your ideal winter weekend escape?
Holly: Venturing out of the hustle and bustle of the city scene instantly relaxes me and when beautiful scenery and delicious food and wine are involved, nothing is better! Campbell Point House is the perfect destination for a little R&R. Put your feet up, pop some bubbles, and enjoy a quiet and cosy weekend away!
MIMCO: What are your top 5 tips for packing for a weekend away?
1.Plan your itinerary and determine what your weekend will look like; this will help determine your outfits.
2.Check the weather forecast—so many people forget this step but it is KEY to planning outfits!
3.Set out full looks (head-to-toe) that you plan to wear according to your schedule. I always like to try on my outfits before packing them so you know that your look is exactly what you envisage!
4.Pick bags and shoes that will work with multiple looks and always aim to have a great pair of flats, heels or boots on hand. Keeping to the same colour tones when picking outfits always helps.
5.Pack a set of jewellery that you plan to wear with every look (necklace, rings, bracelet and earrings) but add in a couple of additional statement earrings to mix and match with day-to-night looks.
How do you alter your working wardrobe for winter?
As the temperature drops, more layers and accessories come into play. I love to add a big, cosy scarf and thick, warm gloves when making my way between meetings. Knee high boots such as the Century Slouch Boot are also a great addition, as well as a classic leather tote bag when you need to store away all of those winter layers throughout the day.
