DRESS UP WITH NADIA BARTEL

Special occasions can be tricky to dress for, so can not-so-special occasions for that matter – but we do believe that a truly special accessory has the ability to elevate any outfit to another level!
Same you, fancier shoes (bag, earrings etc.).

We asked dressing up aficionado Nadia Bartel to share how she approaches dressing up for some of the events you’ll more than likely find yourself invited to throughout the party season.

After Work Drinks

“We can all agree that great accessories take an outfit to that next level, especially over the party and racing season when there are endless events. If my outfit options are running low, I reach for accessories so they can do the hard work to mix up my looks.

At work, I keep it low key with denim and my favourite silk cami, but after work, I like to glam it up with a cool bag and some gold jewellery. It’s all about colour pops this season and I love red and pink together (yes, together) – think ‘more is more’ when it comes to colour.

Red accessories look great paired with denim, black, burnt orange or yellow – and don’t forget about gold jewellery, which teams perfectly with red."

Ready For Race Day

“I love the racing season because it allows you to play with accessories that you usually wouldn’t wear. It’s the time of the year to go out and make a statement. Think long cascading earrings, big hoops and gold beaded fringing.

It’s important not to forget about your shoes. I look to platform styles for outdoor events like the races so that my heels don’t get caught in the grass.

With headwear, metallics are big (again)! Delicate gold crowns are going to be popular, as well as bold turbans. I am also really excited to give the wide-brimmed or boater hat a whirl too."

A Night On The Town

“I like keeping it simple and classic with my clothes, which allows me to play up to the different trends with my accessories instead. At night, I am all about beading, sparkle and bright jeweled tones.”
