If you had to sum up what you do in just two sentences, what would you say?

I'm Tkay. I'm an electro rapper from Australia and I just love making songs about being silly and having good vibes all around.

You've lived all over Australia but you're now based in Adelaide. What do you love about that city?

Yep! Adelaide's quiet... Nothing really happens over there so it's good to hang out and have a quiet place to live. Other cities are really busy, Adelaide is my hibernation spot.

What's on rotation for you right now?

A$AP Ferg and A$AP Rocky. Anything by them I'm totally listening to.

You're a singer/musician. Tell us about your music.

I'm an electro rapper; I've been experimenting with everything. Right now I'm still trying to figure out what I love. I've collaborated with so many people. I work with my touring DJ, Elk. He's one of the main people I work with along with Swick & Lewis Cancut. I've also worked with a couple of international people like Must Die who is a protégé under Skrillex' label OWLSA; he makes cool music. I've played Splendour in the Grass, Listen Out 2014, Groovin' the Moo, Oak Bank 2014 and many club shows this year including the NLV Presents Tour with some cool DJs; It's been intense.

How much does music influence your life?

A lot more than I probably realise. It gets me through the hard times and it also mimics the good and, is a part of the good times. The best moments of my life so far have happened through music and creating music so it's really influential.

Who inspires or influences you?

Everyone I work with, my family, my team, my friends. I'm kind of doing this for the people around me because they're really hard working people and I want the best for them and I want them to know that they haven't wasted 2 - 18 years of their lives putting effort into something that 'could have been'. They deserve it.

What's one line/lyric from a song that has stayed with you and why?

There's this song called "They Say" that I wrote with Kilter and the first line is " Whatever you ask me, I will do, not because It was for me, it was for you". That line is pretty much my whole life right now. I think is correlates with the question of who inspires me.

What do you think of the MIMCO x Frends headphones?

They look so sick and they sound great too! I'm definitely going to be sporting the black and gold ones.

We were so thrilled to be able to use Switch Lanes in our #mimcoxfrends video, before it's even released. What's the song about and when did you write it?

Switch Lanes was written a year ago, it's about being in a different part of your life and people or things from the past trying to be a part of it, but they're not... You've switched lanes.

If someone only had 24 hours in Adelaide what would you suggest they do/see/visit?

I have no idea! Nord Burger in Norwood is cool!

What's next for you?

I have a couple of shows in LA and New York right now then when I get back to Australia, I will be touring A LOT and releasing more music.
